Teatro dei piombi takes place in the 70s, in Venice, Italy. It’s the story of a couple of left ideals, where the two take different paths that lead them astray. I wanted the conflict to be already there in the set design, so you can see strange elements that blends for aesthetic, colours and proportions but are actually odd, given what the two characters ideas should have been. Since it was a controversial period, full of contrasts, this idea that what’s on the surface doesn’t necessary reflects the content really worked for me and Tommaso, and was also really fun to play with.
